Any woman will tell you that underwear and outerwear go together like fish and chips, or strawberries and champagne. You can be wearing a stunning Chanel dress, but if you don’t have good underwear on you just won’t feel right, simple as that. In other words, you have to feel good to look good and if you have to be wearing underwear that is chic and classy enough to go with your posh frock.
The sales of dresses have gone through the roof in recent years as women’s shopping habits change and wardrobes have bulged. They are now spending less on singular items and buying more at a cheaper price. Walk into any high street clothes retailer and you will see mini dresses alongside maxi dresses and even the waist cinching, full-skirted dresses from the 1950’s.
Young women now have dresses hanging in their wardrobes just like their mother’s used to wear, something that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. Bigger girls who have spent years covering up in baggy tops are shocked to discover how slimming a well fitting dress can be, and the sales of outsized dresses in particular has greatly increased in recent years.
Now that the majority of our schools and colleges have taken on the American tradition of holding proms, the chance for teenage girls to get out of their tracksuit bottoms and trainers has been embraced with the girls and their parents alike. Everyone wants to look their best for the prom, and elaborate evening gowns and hairstyles are the order of these days for these girls.

At one time every lady had a special little black dress, now the norm is to have a few. Bright colours and vibrant designs have also added to the appeal of dresses, and every woman looks infinitely more attractive in a dress than separates.
